Men, it is so important to be confident in this day and age. Unfortunately for most of us, confidence does not come naturally. And for others, the line between confident and cocky is slightly blurred. So here are a few tips for you:

Believe that you are there for a reason. At your job or in a relationship (of any kind: romantic or friendly), people have kept you around or brought you into their lives for a reason. Believe that, and own it.

Do not be afraid of criticism. It is so easy to get swept up in a negative attitude when someone tries to give you a pointer. “I’m never going to be good enough;” “I knew I’d mess up,” etc. Stop! Mistakes happen. Take this as a learning opportunity and grow from it. You are going to come out on the other side a better person, and with a lot of class!

Be nice. Really, it is that easy. Being nice to people often results in people being nice to you in return, and wanting to be around you more. This generally boosts confidence. When people want to be with you, you feel good about yourself. You think, “Wow, these people want to be around me, I must be doing something right!”

Dress for success. Whatever it is you are doing – going to work, the gym, a party – dress for the occasion, and go all out. If you feel good in the clothes you are wearing, you will feel better about walking into that situation.

RELAX! Do not be so stressed out! We understand that is easier said than done, so try to find ways to alleviate that stress. Grab a stress ball, go for a run, lift some weights, grab a coffee, or read a book – Anything to keep you calm. When you are calm and not worrying, you have more time to get things done, or figure problems out. This leads to having confidence that you can get through anything!
