Planning your summer vacation? It is about time! We are fortunate enough to live in a time where travelling is so easy – you just hop on a plane, and there you are! We thought we would give you a nice little breakdown of some of our favourite vacation spots, and you can think about hitting them up yourself!
Seattle, WA: We love it here. It is a beautiful city with great shopping, awesome food, and superb culture. You can check out the Space Needle, The EMP (Experience Music Project) Museum, head over to the Pike Place market, and grab some coffee at the very first Starbucks ever. And that will barely scratch the surface for you! If you are into some stranger things, check out the Gum Wall, Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe (it’s been there since 1899!) or the Nordic Heritage Museum. You will definitely never be bored here.
Shuswap Lake, BC: If you are looking for a relaxing time on the water, we suggest visiting Shuswap Lake in British Columbia. Think about renting a houseboat, cabin, or driving out and camping nearby! Lakes and summer go hand-in-hand, and if you are looking to save money but still have a great time, this is your vacation! While you are spending the money for accommodations, chances are you won’t spend much of it shopping for souvenirs. And if you do decide to rent a houseboat, cabin, or go camping, you won’t be spending your money on restaurants either – just on food at the grocery store, which will definitely save you a ton!
Barcelona, Spain: If you are feeling really exotic, or have the money in the bank, GO TO SPAIN! Really it is not a place you will regret going to. I went last year and decided to go to Barcelona on the suggestion of our travel agent. I went in with zero expectations, and left with a completely new perspective. Barcelona is a beautiful mix of old and new, with a million and one things to see that really show off Europe’s great history, as well as a ton of gorgeous modern architecture to be amazed by. Barcelona is right on the beach, has a ton of outdoor gyms (free, obviously), an insane soccer culture, and great food. If you are thinking of heading to Europe but don’t know where to go, give Barcelona a serious look. (photo: timeout.com)
