Getting Back On Track After Summer

It’s happening… Summer is ending. I know, I know. We don’t want to talk about it. Unfortunately, we do. We’ve noticed you’ve been out having fun all summer. Late nights, lots of drinks, hazy mornings… Your body has noticed too. It’s going to be okay, though. We’ve got you covered with some tips on how to get back on track after this amazing 2015 summer you’ve had.

Get back to the gym. Start slow, though. Don’t rush back into your old workout regime. Getting summer ready was tough work, and chances are you simply couldn’t find time to keep going over the summer months. We don’t blame you. Concerts, festivals, parties… Who would have time to go? That’s why it’s important to ease your way back in. Maybe go half as hard as you were leading up to summer. You don’t want to hurt yourself. Even for those of us who still went to the gym regularly…chances are you slowed down a bit. It’s summer, it’s expected. Work your way back up to full speed. And make sure it becomes a habit to go again! That way, come next summer, you’ll basically be beach-bod ready already!

Moisturize! I know, guys, you think you don’t need to. But trust me, our skin takes a serious hit in the summer time. Of course we were all wearing sunscreen all summer long, but even so, the sun does some major damage, so it’s up to us to do some damage control. Simply moisturizing your face and body can make a world of difference for your skin, and it’ll thank you. Plus, it’ll get you ready for those dry winter months coming up. Trust me, just do it.

Get a new wardrobe. It’s no secret that work slows down in the summer – as it should! We all deserve a break. This also means though that our wardrobes tend to wane a bit as well. We get more casual, we find ways to keep cool so we ditch the suit for a few months. No problem. But it’s time to get back to looking your best. Coloured pants, sports jackets, layers, and a new suit are never bad ideas. Plus, with the cooler weather coming in, you’ll have to look into new scarves and sweaters as well. Come to Derks, and we’ll be able to help you out with that!
